I love this camp, i went here this summer and it was truly magical. The songs, food, trainers, and the horses! Definitely going to go back. Loved it so much as my first sleep away camp and will definitely go back. The girls there were amazing and nice.

This is my daughter’s happy place and the one camp she really looks forward to every year. They get to do both western and English riding and stay in nice cabins (no AC though), and it’s a more intimately small camp. I feel very comfortable sending my daughter there. Highly recommend!

My daughter had an absolutely wonderful experience, and has been there twice. This camp presents a unique opportunity for any rider who wants to try some different riding styles, improve their skills, and just have a ton of fun! They have horses, or you can bring your own. Girls come from all over the USA. The views and outdoor ranch are incredible and the family running this really puts their heart into it and does a fantastic job. My daughter will never forget it, and she has made some great long distance friends, too! Other activities such as swimming, a bonfire, a camp talent show, and arts & crafts, etc. are part of the camp, too, and very fun.

Beware - When I was young I went to this camp. I decided to take my beautiful show horse to the camp for the summer. To make a long story short, my. Horse got pneumonia and the camp did not bother to call a veterinarian to try and save my horse. They did nothing. Nor did they call my parents to comfort me. It was one of the worst days of my life.
Do not take your horse to this camp. There was no one to help me get thru this. The owners did nothing.

What a magical place for girls get a true "summer camp" experience! My daughter attended her first summer camp last year and can't wait to go back! The staff and counselors were amazing, the horses so well loved, cabins are comfortable and just rustic enough, the view of the mountains is incredible and the friendship formed -- everlasting!

I love this place. I went there 75 -80, then back as a counselor. I am in my 50's and still have amazing friends I met there. I didn't want to go to camp because other camp I had been to I hated. My mom and I heard a commercial on Y-100 Miami (radio station) for the camp, said I would go for 2 weeks, that turned into 6 weeks, then 9 weeks, then there after first week was a wagon train then regular camp.
I remember my counselor making me write letters home cause my mom never got any letters....who has time to write when your having so much fun! This is my home away from home, absolutely love it!

Lifelong friendships begin at Valley View Ranch! I attended VVR as a camper, and then worked as a counselor and program director for a total of 12 years as a child and young adult. It had such a positive and lasting impact on my life that I can't imagine not having this wonderful experience. As campers, girls learn horseback riding (of course!), independence, teamwork, self-reliance, a love for nature and animals, respect for themselves and others, and so many other valuable life skills they will carry forever. The skills and work ethic I learned at VVR have been of great influence in my personal and professional life! Now in my 40's, I still maintain close friendships with several of the girls I met at VVR. We visit each other across the country, have epic road trips, and meet every year at camp for reunions where we revert to horse-crazy campers for a weekend. I'm so thankful that my parents found VVR and made it possible for me to be a camper there. It truly is my "home away from home" no matter where I am!
