My daughter, Ayla, was 8 when Heather first photographer her. Ayla absolutely loved Heather and had a blast. Heather is wonderful with kids and makes their shoots absolutely magical! That was the first of many photo shoots we’ve had with her. Ayla will be a Senior in High School next year and wants Heather to take Senior pictures. I love how Heather fully commits to each shoot and new idea. Whether she’s doing fairy pictures, dance photography or macro work, you can see her heart in her work! We had the best portrait experience with Fairyography!

After following Fairyography on Facebook for years, it was time for my daughter's senior pictures. We were looking for something different than the usual "stand in front of a brick wall" portraits. My daughter wanted some fairy images as well as some casual dress shots and of course, we needed a few that would make grandma happy too!

From start to finish, Heather made the process effortless. She communicated with us swiftly and was flexible with finding a date and time that worked with our schedule. We wanted images taken with great autumn colors so she gave us guidance as to the best weeks to make that happen in Athens.

Heather truly cared about what we were looking for in these images. In addition to talking to me she also spoke with my daughter on the phone before the shoot to introduce herself and find out how best to make the pictures everything she'd imagined. Based on their conversation, Heather selected the most amazing copper-colored dress and wings to go with my daughter’s auburn hair and the results were stunning.

On the day of the shoot, Heather met us at the UGA parking garage with the fairy dress and wings. We walked to some of the small gardens around the UGA campus for the fairy images. I was really impressed with Heather's knowledge of the perfect, hidden places to go to capture some magical scenes, be it with a mossy fountain, a stand of trees in peak fall color, lit by the late afternoon sun or a quiet lawn scattered with red leaves. Start to finish we spent about two hours taking pictures.

My daughter was a little nervous before the shoot but, in addition to being an artist with her camera, Heather has a true gift for putting her subjects at ease. In no time, they were chatting and laughing together and my daughter's comfort led to many beautiful, natural moments that were caught on camera.

Heather was also great at gauging the light, the angles to best catch the sun and very good at gently directing my daughter to make changes with her head position or hands to get the best images.

After the fairy pictures, my daughter changed into her casual outfits. Heather had fun suggestions for locations around campus where we could take these shots, including the roof of the parking deck. We finished up there just before sunset. My daughter was in dance for years and Heather caught some incredible action shots of her leaping in the air in her Doc Martens with the Athens skyline and a twilight sky behind her.

In about a week Heather had the images ready to be viewed. We had the option of seeing them virtually at a Zoom presentation or going into her studio. We chose to do the selection process in person. I promised myself I wouldn't cry but as I sat on the couch during the slideshow of all the images, I absolutely needed some tissues. Heather is an amazing photographer and captured my daughter exactly as I see her - and how she sees herself - in moments that were beautiful, sweet, funny and fierce. The pictures were awesome.

I had high hopes when we selected Fairyography for this senior portrait session. After the happy afternoon we spent at the shoot and the incredible photo results, I must say, all my expectations were exceeded. I cannot thank Heather enough for sharing her talent and time with my family.

If you have been following Fairyography and are wondering if you should make the leap, don't hesitate a moment more! I can promise you'll be so impressed with the results.
